New fire truck for Pearl Beach
The Pearl Beach fire brigade has a new fire truck.
The new "category 9" light tanker is also known as a "striker".
The four-wheel-drive vehicle carries two firefighters and 600 litres of water.
The new truck will be known as Pearl Beach 9.
Normally operated in support of "category 1" heavy tankers, like Pearl Beach 1, the vehicles provide additional capacity to quickly access fires in areas which would be difficult to get to with the larger truck.
"We look forward to becoming more familiar with this vehicle and the additional capabilities which it adds to our Brigade," said captain Mr Lindsay Boyd.
