Gosford West candidates 'less responsive' - ACF group
Gosford West Ward candidates for Central Coast Council have been less responsive than candidates in other wards, according to the Australian Conservation Foundation's Central Coast Community Group.
"The community group distributed a survey to all candidates standing for the Central Coast Council to understand where they stand on key environmental issues impacting the Central Coast," said convenor Mr Norm Harris.
"The questions were broad-ranging on climate change, development and environmental protection.
"We received a good response from across the five wards, with the general consensus of response received including action on climate change policy, removing shark nets, protecting the Coastal Open Space System lands, and retention of the nuclear-free policy.
"In relation to the Peninsula, the only group to respond were the Labor candidates."
Mr Harris said: "This is particularly concerning, as all candidates were given over two weeks to respond.
"We need councillors who plan for the future and protect the environment of the Peninsula which is too precious to ignore."
