About our council 'ward'
Central Coast Council elections will be held on Saturday, September14, with 11 polling booths available on the Peninsula.
The council area is divided into five "wards" with three councillors to be elected for each by their residents.
The Peninsula falls within the Gosford West Ward.
The West Ward has a population of about 70,000 with about 34,000 dwellings.
It has a land area of 792 square kilometres and a population density of 89 people per square kilometre.
Its boundaries largely coincide with the State electorate of Gosford, held by Labor Member of Parliament Ms Liesl Tesch, extending as far as Bucketty in the north and Wiseman's Ferry in the west..
The Peninsula has a population of about 40,000 with about 19,000 dwellings, representing about 57 per cent of the ward's population.
It has a land area of 14 square kilometres and a population density of 2900 people per square kilometre.
The age profile of the ward shows 43.6 per cent of the population aged over 50 while the Peninsula has 47.3 per cent over 50.
