Election special edition
This is the last issue of Peninsula News before the Central Coast Council elections to be held on Saturday, September 14, and is an "election special".
The elections are the first in seven years and follow just on four years of operation under State Government-appointed Administrators.
Peninsula residents will be voting to elect three councillors from six groups of three candidates and two ungrouped candidates in the Gosford West Ward.
The Peninsula represents more than half the population of the ward, which largely coincides with the State electorate of Gosford.
Peninsula News invited the candidates to submit a short summary of their policies for publication in this issue.
Four of the groups responded: Group B New Independents led by Ms Jane Smith, Group C Ratepayers' Choice led by Mr Kevin Brooks, Group E Labor Party led by Ms Belinda Neal and Group F Coasties who Care led by Ms Lisa Bellamy.
Ungrouped candidate Mr Julian Richards also submitted a summary.
Group A Team Central Coast led by Mr Daniel Abou-Chedid and Group D Liberal Party led by Mr Trent McWaide did not respond.
Our election coverage starts on page five.
