Craft days at family centre

The Beachside Family Centre will be holding 3C's Craft on Monday afternoons from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

"The demands on parents with babies and preschoolers often means they don't get time to achieve something for themselves or get a break from the children," according to Beachside Family Centre faciltitator Ms Debbie Notara.

Ms Notara said the craft group gives parents an opportunity to learn and produce fantastic creations while their preschooler is being cared for.

Sessions on July 25 and August 1 will involve lessons in canvas acrylic painting of Frangipani or Waratah, with participants asked to bring their own cheap canvas.

Other lessons include bead making on August 8, card making on August 15, fabric painting on August 22, meditation and massage on August 29, a lesson in special ways to gift wrap on September 5.

A shared lunch will be held on September 12.

Easy recipes will be shared and the following term will be planned.

Cost for these events is $2, with no materials necessary unless requested.

Childcare is available for a gold coin donation.

Both events and childcare can be booked by contacting 4343 1929.

The 3Cs group is held at Beachside Family Centre in the grounds of Umina Public School, Sydney Ave, Umina.
