Pink Day raises $25,000

A Pink Day held at Empire Bay on Friday, October 13, has raised more than $25,000 to support the treatment of breast cancer.

Over 200 women attended the function at Empire Bay Tavern with the guest speaker being Ms Jane McGrath's best friend, Ms Tracey Bevan.

Ms McGrath was the late wife of Australian cricketer Glen McGrath.

The event was organised by Ms Heidi Holt and Ms Tammy Jackett.

The clear message to all the women in the room was to check your breasts regularly to ensure early detection.
