Green Room talks at Woytopia

A series of Green Room Talks, run by Climate Future, will be held at the Woytopia Festival on Sunday, October 28.

The talks will kick off at 10am with a presentation by Mr Richard Weller of the report on Climate Future's Sea Level Rise-Looking for Solutions forum that was held in August

The audience will hear of the latest risks to the Coast and find out what the local community thinks should be done about sea level rise, how Climate Future could best respond to rising sea levels and what sort of planning is needed.

Also discussed will be facts about waterfront and flood insurance.

Mr Wolf Messthaler and Mr Nigel Hancock will talk at 11:15am on the Australian plan to reduce fossil fuel based electricity with 100 per cent renewable energy.

Participants will be taught how they can ask politicians to build a clean Australia.

Mr Joachim Muller will then present the newly formed Central Coast Community Energy Association Real projects Real Energy from 12:30pm.

Mr Muller will speak of Central Coast Community Energy plans to build solar and wind power stations on the Central Coast and how participants can help to make it a reality.

Mr Ian Garrad will discuss energy bill reductions from 1.30pm.

He will discuss the methods people can use to save money, increase comfort and how to have a carbon neutral home.

The speakers will provide the audience with things they can do in their own home and in the local community to prepare for climate change and avoid making it worse.
