Rates could be better spent

I write in response to the article in the Peninsula News on Monday, February 7, regarding Gosford Council staff investigating the broken promises of the Labor party.

My rates could be better spent.

This report only helps the candidates running for the next election in March.

It allows then to throw mud at the unkept promises.

I am not a member of a political party and I feel our rates could be used to better our community.

I am not sure but I think that our rates cannot be used for political purposes and I feel that this report is for a political purpose and has no real significance for the day-to-day workings of the Council.

Council monies should be spent on council projects or council's operations.

The staff would have better things to do that to prepare a report on unkept political promises which have no operational use.
