Students make 65 warranty claims
The National Secondary Schools Computer Fund laptop manufacturer has received 65 warranty claims from students at Brisbane Water Secondary School since the laptops were rolled out to Year 9 students last year.
A total of 987 devices were provided to Brisbane Water Secondary College students with 65 claims recorded including keyboard, hard drive, touch pad and battery issues.
A total of 9939 warranty claims were logged from 505 schools in NSW up to 24 September last year from the 129,965 laptops that were distributed.
Each laptop is valued at around $500 excluding software and were provided to Year 9 students at NSW public schools who will retain the devices for the remainder of their schooling.
