Locals donate 2200 gifts
More than 2200 gifts were donated to charity by local residents as part of a Christmas gift appeal to assist families in need.
A total of 2226 gifts were donated to the KMart Woy Woy store throughout the month-long appeal, which achieved a national tally of 363,379 gifts.
"It is wonderful to see the people of Woy Woy show their generosity for families in need with generous gift donations to this year's Appeal," Salvation Army Major Gary Masters said.
"Without Kmart and the public's support of its Wishing Tree Appeal, Christmas would not be a reality for so many."
Kmart managing director Mr Guy Russo said the success of the Christmas appeal could be attributed to the generosity and compassion of the public.
"It is evident that, even in tough financial times, Australians dig deep to support people in our community who are struggling.
"The people of Woy Woy have once again displayed great compassion and their incredible generosity has made this year's appeal a wonderful success."
