Two members of Woy Woy Lions Junior Rugby Union Club have been recognised after being nominated for a NSW Rugby Union Gala Award.

Peninsula residents John and Denise Stokie were nominated for The Spirit of Rugby award at the black and white ball event in Sydney on September 14, for their commitment and dedication to rugby union on the Peninsula.

"John and Denise Stokie were recognized for their supreme effort in growing the number of teams in junior rugby union on the Peninsula," said club publicity officer Ms Edwina Nikora.
