Roy presents 1200th program

Woy Woy radio presenter Roy Spence broadcast his 1200th on-air program on Radio Yesteryear last week.

The 85 year-old started in 1992 and has presented more than 1500 programs on other community radio stations as well as on the Central Coast, bringing his total to 3700 broadcasts.

His various programs include Classical Ragtime and Traditional Jazz, Hot Dance Bands of the Roaring 20s, The Swing Era of the 30s and 40s and Oz You Like It - All Australian Bands and Entertainers.

Roy can be heard on Mondays from 7pm to 11pm and on Thursdays from 12pm to 4pm.

Radio Yesteryear plays a mix of ballads, big band, country, popular, comedy, early rock and roll, jazz and old time radio broadcasts.

The station broadcasts on narrowcast radio 151.625 FM from its studio in Kariong, covering Hornsby to Charlestown.

The station is also available for listeners on the internet at www.radioyesteryear.org.au

Radio Yesteryear has also acquired a temporary license on 94.1 FM for three months, which will expire on November 21.
