Aged care building project proceeds
Gosford Council has resolved to proceed with the redevelopment of the Woy Woy Community Aged Care building as a dementia facility
"This new facility will provide premises for Meals on Wheels, adult day care, dementia day care, podiatry and case management services and will incorporate existing services operating from the current building," according to a report prepared for council.
Since the facility was council owned, Gosford Council resolved to waive the development application fees and record the $1.6 million in Federal and State Government funding it received for the redevelopment of Woy Woy Community Aged Care facility as a donation.
According to the report, the facility will be used for "the benefit of older people and their carers accessing home and community care funded services in the Woy Woy area".
Funding for the project was provided jointly through the Home and Community Care (HACC) program by the State and Federal Governments.
