Lesser value
Gosford Council used the fire on Ettalong Beach as an excuse to rip out undamaged native bush and ground cover, which had not been identified for removal on site plans for the viewing platforms.
The council is guilty of accommodating another abuse when rebuilding the sea wall along the front of the Lance Web Reserve.
There the height of the wall was lowered almost two feet during rebuilding process, lessening the protective value of the structure as a sea wall.
