Medical centre approved
Gosford Council has approved a medical centre in Alfred St, Umina.
The applicant had previously been asked to clarify issues relating to waste disposal and emergency patient set-down areas.
Cr Vicki Scott said that at a meeting of February 8, the council was informed that the centre would have a specific waste room for garbage disposal, as well as amended plans for a set down area for the disabled.
The proposal for the site is a two-level medical centre, with the medical centre on the ground floor and commercial space on the second floor.
The existing building will continue to be used as a pharmacy.
Plans for the medical centre began in 1989.
