Spikefest verse competition opens
Entries have opened for the Comic and Crazy verse competition being run through Gosford City Libraries for Spikefest 2004.
The competition celebrating the life and work of writer and comedian Spike Milligan is open to Central Coast residents and students.
Entrants can submit pieces of comic or crazy verse, a short comic or crazy verse plus an original illustration, or a performance verse or comic song.
Entrants in the competition are encouraged to look to the works of Spike Milligan for inspiration, but all works submitted must be original.
Entrants can access the Spike Milligan Collection at Woy Woy Library.
The four age categories are children 8-11 years, children and young adults 12-15 years, young adults 16-18 years of age and adults 19+.
Judging will be undertaken by a panel of professionals, yet to be announced, with presentation of books, prizes, awards and performance of selected pieces to on October 29.
Entries close Sunday, September 26.
Entry forms can be collected from any of Gosford City libraries.
