Employee takes over cafe

A Woy Woy cafe has been taken over by a former employee.

After only working at Cjays cafe restaurant for just six months, new proprietor Debbie Mumford has been able to realise her lifelong dream of becoming a restaurateur.

Debbie is a single mum who has lived in Umina for nine years and has always had a passion for cooking.

"I've been to lots of cooking courses and now I've finally got a chance to try out all the stuff that I've learned," she said.

"I'm really pleased that there are many people coming to try out our new menu and coming back for more.

"Mother's Day was exceptionally busy and resulted in many large bookings.

"We are now BYO and are more child friendly during the day with a different menu to our evening a-la-carte menu."

The cafe restaurant seats 45 inside and 16 outside.
