Training precedes real-life call-out
First, training and preparation for a Crew Operational Assessment, followed by a real-life assist.
That was the order of the day in a busy morning for Marine Rescue Central Coast on Thursday, August 22.
Rescue vessel CC22 was tasked to provide assistance to a five-metre runabout experiencing starter motor difficulties, with two persons on board.
It was held at anchor off The Esplanade at Ettalong.
The location was "somewhat challenging" due to the varied currents and shallows.
Marine Rescue's CC22 quickly put the distressed vessel under tow and returned her to Empire Bay boat ramp.
