Cr Chris Holstein has lashed out at critics of Woy Woy's $25 million Peninsula Leisure Centre, saying their complaints were out of date and out of context.

He said that complaints about delays and budget overruns were based on old estimates and were now being used in a manner that was out of context and out of date.

A Woy Woy trail bike rider, 18, was flown to a Sydney hospital with head and spinal injuries after he hit a tree while riding on a Somersby property on Saturday.

The property owner called Brisbane Water Police and Point Clare ambulance officers to the Reeves St house about 2.50pm to find the rider unconscious.

Fast Ships chairman Alf Salter has hit out at Gosford Cr Chris Holstein for resorting to "scaremongering" over the Ettalong Beach to Circular Quay fast ferry project.

"His assertion that the fast ferry project was being hijacked by the Ettalong Beach promenade concept underlines his lack of understanding of the issues," Mr Salter said.
