Local churches join prayer day

Local churches will join an international prayer focus on Poland, with prayers planned for the St Andrew's Anglican Church in Umina on Friday, March 4.

Over 170 countries and regions will participate, and in a 24-hour period there will be associated gatherings right around the world

Women of the churches of Poland have prepared the Worship Service for the World Day of Prayer and have chosen the theme "Let Our Light Shine".

The service on the Peninsula will be held at St Andrew's Anglican Church, Ocean Beach Rd, Umina, at 11am.

The speaker will be Rev Lisbeth Parton of Woy Woy Anglican Parish.

Umina Uniting Church member Ms Annette Strong said that more than 30,000 people in NSW would take part in local services.
