Businesses not levied?

Businesses in Booker Bay and Blackwall will not be included in the proposed Peninsula business levy, according to community activist Mr Ed James.

Mr James said that he had received a letter from Gosford's Council's director of finance and corporate services Mr Nic Pasternatsky, stating that Umina, Ettalong, Woy Woy and Woy Woy South would be included in the proposed levy, but not Booker Bay or Blackwall.

Mr James said he was told that an application would be made to the local government minister Mr Tony Kelly in May requesting his approval for the levy.

The council would have to advise the Department of all submissions received regarding the proposal, following the exhibition period of the draft City Management Plan, which incorporates the revenue policy, before action could be taken.

It is anticipated that the documentation will be on public exhibition from April 27 to May 25.
