Patchwork group member showns three recent quilts

A member of the Monday patchwork group at the Ettalong Beach Arts and Craft Centre has recently shown the group three of her recently-completed quilts.

The first quilt shown by Ms Sarah Vaughan was made from "orphan" blocks left over from other projects she has done.

She put them together cleverly to make a bright quilt, said tutor Ms Penny Howard.

The second was another bright quilt using strips of fabrics grouped together by colour.

She also showed a "beautiful and fun" quilt with a kite theme.

"I love the addition of the ric rac tails," said Ms Howard.

Last Monday Ms Cheryl Jones brought in her completed "gorgeous and bright butterfly quilt", said Ms Howard.

She said Ms Di Merryfull put the finishing stitches on the binding of her "cheery string quilt, made with off cuts and left overs from many past projects - a great use for small remnants".
