Welcome return to public Anzac Day services
The resumption of open Anzac Day services, after coronavirus restrictions prevented public attendance at the services last year, was welcome, according to Member for Gosford Ms Liesl Tesch.
"This is a time of reflection and to show gratitude for our serving members and veterans who have given our country so much," said Ms Tesch.
"During the Covid-19 restrictions, we all were unable to fully express and show our respect to the brave men and women who served and continue to serve in our defence force."
Ms Tesch said she was thankful the restrictions no longer applied, "recognising this moment as important for our community to reconnect and commemorate the sacrifices of our armed forces in a way they deserve".
"Despite the lockdown and public health measures over the last two years, our community held separate private ceremonies or stood at their driveways holding poppy flowers at dawn, commemorating our servicemen and women in whatever way they could."
"I am grateful to be able to honour our veterans and current service men and women by attending the Anzac Day ceremonies this year."
