Pictures of Sydney red gums wanted
The Grow Urban Shade Trees group is interested in seeing pictures of Sydney red gum trees around the Peninsula.
The tree, also known as angophora costata or the "smooth-barked apple" gum, is an important local habitat tree, according to group member Ms Jenny Wilder.
She said the trees were currently in flower, dotting the surrounding hills and national park.
"We are blessed to live on angophora country amongst these majestic beauties.
"Their branches seem to dance with interesting bends and twists and their smooth bark is famous for its beautiful tones of red, orange and mauve.
"With maintenance and space, these trees can exist in an urban setting.
"There are some excellent examples around the Peninsula.
"We would love to see your photos."
