Grant to install bush tucker garden and dreaming trail
Woy Woy Public School has received a grant from the NSW Environmental Trust install a Bush Tucker Garden and Dreaming Trail on school grounds.
"Our very own Macca has been working hard clearing and making garden beds," said principal Ms Ona Buckley.
"Soon the students will have an opportunity to plant, water and maintain the garden.
"It will also be used as an outdoor classroom and will have a yarning circle.
"We hope to officially open our garden during Naidoc Week in week 10 of this term.
"In the meantime, some of our aboriginal students in Stage 3 have been doing a fantastic job painting one of the artworks.
"Macca has created a sculpture from one of our fallen tree branches, turning it into a Rainbow Serpent which has been named Bandi Bandi by our Mingaletta aunties," Ms Buckley said.
