Bill would prohibit Woy Woy cash loan machine
The Peninsula's only cash loan machine would have to be removed, if a Labor politician's Private Member's Bill is successful.
Opposition spokeswoman for Better Regulation Ms Yasmin Catley has introduced the Bill into the NSW State Parliament to prohibit cash loan machines.
She said the machines were in some of the lowest socio-economic areas in the state and preyed on families and individuals doing it tough by offering "Small Amount Credit Contracts" that trapped low income earners in "vicious cycles of debt".
An instant cash loan machine is currently installed at tobacconist CTC Woy Woy in Peninsula Plaza.
