Grant enables gym program at Pretty Beach

Pretty Beach Public School will implement a gymnastics program after receiving a Federal Government school sporting grant.

"Pretty Beach Public School has been successful in receiving a $2200 grant from the Australian Government as part of the Sporting Schools initiative," said school principal Ms Deborah Callendar.

"Due to the popularity of the initiative, many schools miss out on funding so we are very lucky to have received it for this term.

"In the past, we have used funding to implement sporting programs for all students free of charge in the sports of rugby, hockey, volleyball, lacrosse, netball and tennis.

"This term we will be participating in a four-week intensive gymnastics program, led by trained coaches from Umina Police and Community Youth Club," Ms Callendar said.
