Service us, or go back to the drawing board
I have been connected to and resided on the Central Coast, in particular the southern area, since my father had a fishing shack at Point Clare in the 1950s.
Then my parents bought at Koolewong and moved from the inner suburbs of Sydney to permanently live here in the mid-1960s.
I have watched Umina, Ettalong, and surrounding areas grow and develop and have generally been happy with the moves.
Of course, there has always been the long list of complaints regarding roads, drains, kerbs, gutters and council services and always the fear that areas further north were attaining better services.
With this generally unwelcome Council amalgamation, I feel that my greatest fear will eventuate and because of the sheer size of the new Council there are going to be areas that will not get the services that all are entitled to.
I am hoping that when the campaign spiel has died down and the councillors have been decided, a fair and equal Council will make sure that all areas are justly serviced.
If this cannot be done then let's go back to the drawing board and force a rethink regarding this ridiculous amalgamation that was put upon us by this awful State Government.
