Action taken after petition

Property owners in Calypta Rd, Umina, have been advised by Gosford Council that action is being taken following their petition regarding building works at a neighbouring property.

Petitioners stated that the fibro house was very old and they were concerned with the risk of asbestos being contained in the structure.

They said they believed that building work may not have been conducted in a safe and regulated manner and were concerned with its potentially hazardous fibres being released into the air.

Petitioners requested Council to investigate the matter further.
