Patchwork tutor starts
Ettalong Beach Arts and Craft Centre has secured the services of a patchwork and quilting tutor who will teach the traditional methods of quilting to students.
Ms Penny Howard has been producing patchwork designs for over 15 years and said she was looking forward to sharing her skills and knowledge with Ettalong Beach Arts and Craft Centre members.
Ms Howard secured the position of patchwork and quilting tutor after three previous tutors moved on to pursue other interests.
The Centre held its open day on Monday, February 11, which gave members of the community the chance to meet with Penny.
"What a fantastic day it turned out to be with a steady stream of people wishing to find out about all the arts and craft classes held in our centre," said Centre publicity officer Ms Sue Sullivan.
"We were delighted to have new members joining on the day in the quilting, folk art and silk painting classes.
"Our tutors pride themselves on catering to all skill levels and bringing unique experiences in all areas of artwork to our members.
"Penny enjoyed the opportunity to meet with current members of the classes and our committee as well as welcoming those who will be her students later this month," said Ms Sullivan.
Ettalong Beach Arts and Craft Centre will hold its annual meeting on Monday, February 18.
