Auditons for Little Theatre
Auditions for the second Woy Woy Little Theatre play for the year, Dial M For Murder, will be held on Monday, February 25, and Tuesday, February 26.
The play features a cast of five with one woman aged in her 30s or 40s, one male aged 50 plus and three other males aged around 30 to 40 years.
Director Brendon Flynn said this story, written by Frederick Knott and filmed by Alfred Hitchcock in 3D during the early 50s, was a real classic of the theatre.
"You have the beautiful Margo, having an affair with a good friend of her husband, famous tennis player Tony," said Mr Flynn.
"Tony suspects the affair and, out for revenge, plots a clever way of having her murdered.
"But Margo, in self-defence, kills the man who was waiting in the dark to murder her.
"Husband Tony quickly turns the situation around to suit his end, with the result Margo is tried for murder, found guilty and sentenced for execution.
"Can the police inspector solve the case before Margo meets the hangman?"
Dial M for Murder will be staged at Woy Woy's Peninsula Theatre from July 19 to August 4.
