Waterfront must generate funds
The Crash Landing alternative that was hastily prepared plan and advertised in the Peninsula News, November 28, edition is not viable.
It would not be viable to bury Dane Dr along the waterfront as the proposal has already been costed at $200 million.
How will this amount be funded?
By contrast, the Landing Masterplan is fully costed and the result is perhaps the longest public consultation process ever undertaken by Gosford Council in a genuine community endeavour to capitalise on Gosford's unique and greatest assets.
The resultant plan already has broad Government and Council support and is still subject to the continuing consultative process.
The current Masterplan envisages the creation of 4000 Gosford office jobs and the flow of trades effect during construction would be an enormous boost to the local economy.
The Master Plan also recognises the obvious, that the waterfront redevelopment must generate the funds to be viable.
