Landing alternative clearly superior
I should like to commend the alternative scheme for the Gosford waterfront presented by John Hancock in an advertisement on page 6 in the last edition of Peninsula News.
It is so clearly superior to the official Gosford Landing scheme that it should be pursued determinedly and refined into an action plan.
I have some doubts about the location of the residential development and hotel immediately abutting the railway line, but the noise problem could probably be overcome by enclosing the adjoining length of track, and the benefits to the over-all scheme are so obvious that it would be worth the trouble of overcoming the impediment of train noise.
This scheme begins to look like something that Gosford could be proud of, and the two schemes should be made widely available for public comparison and for the kind of vigorous debate that has been so far sadly lacking.
