Attempt to raise $5000 for MS
An attempt will be made to raise $5000 on the Peninsula for multiple sclerosis as part of the national Yoga Aid Challenge on Sunday, November 15.
The Peninsula Yoga Centre instructor Mr John Wilson said local yoga participants had been encouraged to come along and perform 108 rounds of sun salutation to raise funds for MS Australia.
"Our aim is to raise much needed funds for people affected by multiple sclerosis, the most common disease of the central nervous system," Mr Wilson said.
"MS strikes young adults in the prime of their lives and over 18,000 Australians are affected by MS.
Mr Wilson said the centre would also hold an open day to coincide with the event and give interested people the opportunity to see what yoga is all about.
He also encouraged local residents to support the cause by donating to the centre's Yoga Aid Challenge fund.
