Targett on at folk club

Local musician Warren Targett will perform at The Troubadour Central Coast's next meeting on Saturday, November 28.

The meeting will be held at the CWA Hall opposite Fisherman's Wharf in Woy Woy from 7pm.

Folk club president Mr Bill Bekric said the performance was sure to be another great night with performances by Sarah Fogarty and Maggie Salem.

"Warren is an entertainer, musician and songwriter who lives at Bateau Bay on the Central Coast and whose professional career spans over 45 years," Mr Bekric said.

"Musically trained, he has been a band member, solo entertainer, backing singer, pit orchestra player, musical director in Australia and overseas.

"In the 1980s, Warren presented his Rollin' To Jenolan show weekly at Jenolan Caves.

"He teaches music on the guitar, having seven internationally recognised players to his credit.

"With John Goldsmith, Warren has developed a Guide To The Guitar.

"Warren builds, repairs and restores guitars in his workshop and mentors HSC students in guitar building.

"Warren regularly performs at the Troubadour Folk and Acoustic Music Club and we welcome him back to the stage for another performance."

Mr Bekric said the club was also looking to once again stage the wonderful music duo of singer guitarists Sarah and Maggie.

"Sarah Fogarty and Margie Salem perform songs that are sung straight from the heart," Mr Bekric said.

"Sarah and Margie have been performing together for more than 25 years - since they were just little girls growing up on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

"They have been regulars at The Shack, and the folk club circuit in Sydney and the Central Coast for many years.

"Their intricate harmonies are truly exquisite."
