Flags taken down
Volunteer surf lifesavers from Killcare, Ocean Beach and Umina Beach surf clubs took down their red and yellow flags on April 26, to mark the end of the NSW patrol season.
According to Surf Life Saving NSW, Ocean Beach recorded six rescues, 367 preventable actions and 379 club memberships, while Umina Beach undertook 71 rescues, 872 preventable actions and 523 club memberships.
Killcare recorded a total of 20 rescues, 344 preventable actions and 307 club memberships.
Total figures for Central Coast patrolled beaches included 777 rescues, 15,076 preventable actions and 7387 club memberships.
Figures were expected to be significantly higher, with clubs logging final statistics after the season ends.
