Parents pay for wireless network
The Empire Bay Public School's Parents and Citizens Association have decided to fund the installation of a wireless network within the school to the value of $1952.
A wireless network means that laptops do not need to be physically connected to the wall outlets to access network features such as printing, internet and file saving.
The school newsletter stated that "the students will be provided with greater opportunities to use technology and it will be easier to use the laptops".
"It means our laptops become very mobile, resulting in the ability to use them more frequently and with a larger number of students."
The school recently received 14 wireless-ready laptops, adding to the current pool of 12 laptops.
