Autumn at Ettalong
From the blaze of summer
The sunlight has softened
To burnish the water
Of the bay.
A seagull dips a foot
In the cooling sea
And runs from the swirling surf
Of the bay.
The breeze ripples the ocean
Flecked topaz by sunshine.
Waves caress the rocks
Of the bay.
I sit on the sand,
My dog beside me,
Cradled in the glow
Of the bay.
