Rates may rise marginally

Rates on the Peninsula may only increase marginally following recent revaluations by the Valuer-General, according to Gosford mayor Cr Robert Bell.

"The increase in the rates might be 10 to 20 dollars at the most," he said.

"It does depend on what the government sets as the rate in the dollar.

"They set it. We don't," he said.

"Residents don't need to be too concerned as they benefit from the rise in property values, but actual rates will not rise very much."
