Development will close lane

Another Medical Centre may soon tower over Umina from a height of 12.75 meters, a testament to the power of money.

This Wardend Development project will rob the people of the community of the amenity to cross both in vehicle and on foot freely between the biggest car park and the largest shopping complex, and this should concern the people.

My discussion with a concerned business owner as to why I would try to stop a private development was interesting.

It touched on the surprising amount of inaccurate information that Gosford Council is using to assess the D/A 11923/2001.

Most of that information was difficult to understand for us as we are agreed amateurs when it comes to town planning and its use of the EPAA and the way paid representatives work to achieve an end result.

More importantly, how easily council is able to mislead the community and our councillors by signing and publishing documents that are assumed to be accurate, simply because they come from council.

I refer to a letter I received from Cr Lynne Bockholt signed by Mr Murray from Gosford City Council Corporation.

Why would council be signing letters that mislead the public about how it was acquiring land?

What was the reason for publishing it in the agenda for November 6?

Would the past owners of Jewels Pty Ltd be surprised to know Jewels was mentioned in this?
