Authors of Greek-themed books hold signing together

Two authors of Greek-themed books will hold a book-signing at a Greek restaurant in Woy Woy from 12pm to 3pm on Saturday, December 21.

Ms Sally Jane Smith who launched her travel memoir Unpacking for Greece at Woy Woy Library as part of the Words on the Waves writers' festival was recognised recently by the Greek-Australian Cultural League of Melbourne.

They have awarded her first prize in the "Prose in English" category of their 2024 book awards.

"To see my name listed with those of so many accomplished Greek-Australian writers is an indescribable honour," she said.

"As a non-Greek who owes a great deal to Greece - the country that turned me into a writer and helped me fall back in love with my own life - I feel enormous gratitude."

Ms Smith will be joined by Umina romance writer Ms Ella McLaughlin, whose first book Finding Me and You is set on a Mediterranean cruise and features Santorini on its cover.

She is currently writing her fifth novel, set in Greece.
