Charities benefit

Two Peninsula charities received donations recently as part of the Central Coast Community Chest's second allocation for the year.

The charities were Mary Macs and Woy Woy Community Aged Care.

Mary Macs received $10,000 towards fitting out its new kitchen.

Woy Woy Community Aged Care received $4796 for four new tilt chairs.

The cheques were presented on Friday, July 21, at Deepwater Plaza.

Community Chest general manager Mr Chris Holstein said this was the second allocation for the year with another three more to be done by year's end.

Mr Holstein said that, with over 85 charities to support, demand always outweighed the resources.

Last year the Community Chest was able to put 96 cents in the $1 back into the community for every donation raised.
