Umina holds King and Queen Carnival
Umina Beach Men's Bowling Club held its annual King and Queen of the Central Coast Carnival on September 21 and 22.
Club secretary Mr Peter Springett described it as "a sensational carnival, played in great sprit in glorious sunshine".
"Unfortunately two of the bigger Central Coast Bowls clubs carded their championships at the same time and a few of the early entries had to withdraw, so we had to scramble to get replacement teams."
The winners were: First place, Margaret and Russ Hughes, Avoca 6W +54.
Second place, Lauren Ford and Glenn Simington, Umina 6W +44.
Third place, Lyndall and Scott Webster, Canton/Terrigal 6W +19.
Fourth place, Pat Neal and Ray Bourke, Umina W5.5 +19.
Fifth place, Mavis Bland and John Orme, Ettalong 5W +41.
Consolation prizes went to Vicki and Mick Redrup, Everglades, and Aileen and Ken Robertson, Umina.
