Charged with driving offences

A 31-year-old Umina man has been charged with driving offences after being found in a stolen Ford Focus car.

The car was stolen five days before from the Wyong area and was seen travelling along Empire Bay Dr, Kincumber, on the evening of Saturday, Octobert 15.

It was followed to Ettalong Beach where it was intercepted by a number of highway patrol teams and the driver taken into custody.

The male was breath tested and was found to have a reading 0.07 and to hold an expired learners' licence.

He was charged at Gosford Police Station with taking and driving a "conveyance without consent from owner", with having a licence expired by more than two years and for driving with low range concentration of alcohol.

He was to appear before Newcastle Local Court on October 16.
