Tree group encourages verge planting in 'fish streets'

The Grow Urban Shade Trees group is encouraging residents of the "fish streets" of Ettalong to plant trees in the road verge.

"These roads - Flounder, Flathead, Whiting, Bream and Schnapper - have all suffered major canopy loss due to the development of multi-unit housing in the 80s.

"The verge provides a fantastic opportunity to win back shade and habitat, and to provide beauty for future generations of Peninsula residents."
