Comment sought on Umina intersection upgrade plans

Central Coast Council is seeking comment on a planned upgrade of the intersection of Hobart and Melbourne Aves, Umina Beach.

It will include the reconstruction of Melbourne, Hobart and Adelaide Aves.

The proposed upgrade will consist of the installation of traffic lights, turn lanes, bike lanes, kerb and gutter, parking, pathways, lighting, storm water drainage, driveway reconstruction and replacement tree planting.

The existing pedestrian crossing on Hobart Ave would be removed as part of the works.

The project aims to make the existing road environment safer for all road users including motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

Funding for construction has not yet been secured.

Community members can view the draft designs for the proposed upgrade and give feedback until Thursday, August 20, on the yourvoiceourcoast.com website.
