Tesch urges seniors to take up travel card
Member for Gosford Ms Liesl Tesch is urging eligible senior citizens to apply for the NSW Government's $250 Regional Seniors Travel Card.
The card can be used to purchase fuel, use taxi services or travel on NSW TrainLink trains and coaches.
"We need to take this opportunity with both hands," she said.
"Let's show the Government that cost of living pressures are biting and pensioners deserve to be supported."
Eligible seniors must have a valid Pensioner Concession Card or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card issued by either the Department of Human Services or Department of Veterans' Affairs.
The $250 card is available for Central Coast residents as well as others who live in regional NSW.
Ms Tesch, said the card would be available for a two-year trial period.
Applications for the card may be made at the Service NSW office at Woy Woy, by phone on 13 77 88 or through the Service NSW website at www.service.nsw.gov.au/regionalseniorstravel.
