Chicken eggs hatch at Woy Woy village

An aged care facility in Woy Woy has successfully hatched a clutch of chicken eggs.

BlueWave Living residents and staff have welcomed the hatchlings, with residents playing with, caring for and observing the chicks.

The chicks are housed in the residents' lounge and, according to BlueWave's marketing manager Ms Kylie Scott, have been a big hit with residents.

Ms Scott said the program was facilitated to engage residents and staff alike.

"It's cuteness overload at BlueWave Living and the program has been a huge success and brought much joy to residents," she said.

While still young, the chicks will remain in the lounge and residents' family and friends are welcome to visit and spend an afternoon with their loved ones and the hatchlings, she said.

As they grow, the chicks will be moved into the village's chicken run.
