Applications to demolish homes and erect townhouses

An application to demolish a home at 40 Palm St, Ettalong, has been lodged with Central Coast Council by Complete Demolition Pty Ltd.

The applicant is seeking a complying development certificate for the work estimated to cost $12,000.

Another application has been lodged to demolish a house at 6 Gross Ave, Umina.

Council received a development application on September 4 for the erection of three townhouses at the site.

Each two-storey town house would include two to three bedrooms, according a statement supporting the application submitted by Clark Dowdle and Associates.

The development does not conform to the minimum lot size of 750 square metres as it is 707.5 square metres - a variation of 5.7 per cent.

The report said development would allow greater than three hours solar access to the living areas and private open space areas of the dwellings and neighbouring dwellings to the east and west but would shade the lot to the rear, known as 9 Hector St.

"Notwithstanding that, the shadowing from the proposed rear unit would be less than the shadowing that already exists from the existing large eucalyptus trees," the report noted.

Public comments on this development are open until October 3.
