Smart money would be on a hovercraft

Aside from the obvious futility of continued dredging, Council is now crying poor when it comes to spending money on essential works on the Peninsula.

Aside from our rates, Council has for years been collecting Open Space Acquisition contributions from every new development.

I cannot remember any Council in the past 20 years acquiring any open space.

There should be millions in the Peninsula Open Space Acquisition account that Council could borrow from if the situation was desirable and cost effective.

Moving sand from the channel and dumping it on the beach is a proven fail.

It is stated in Edition 454 "that the new and larger public ferry was unable to pass through the channel", another fail.

Why would you buy a larger vessel when the channel has been "failing " for more than 10 years?

The smart money would be on a hovercraft, big, filthy and noisy but totally cost-effective.

This is the future.
